frequently asked questions
Before you e-mail me with any questions, please make sure the FAQ hasn't already supplied you with an answer.

What is this website about?
This is a website where I'll blog about my baking, post pictures of things I make, and share recipes and tips with my visitors. This website also serves as a portfolio, of sorts, for people who might want to order baked goods from me.

How many people will one of your cakes feed?
A 2-layer 9-inch circle cake or a 9-inch pie will feed about 8-10 people. A 2-layer 13x9-inch cake will feed about 20-25 people. Cupcakes, of course, are meant to be single-serve foods.

Are all of your cakes completely made from scratch?
Yes. When I started baking, I used boxed cake mixes, but since then, I've realized baking from scratch is always a lot more fun. It's how I've come up with some awesome recipes. And, y'know, some not-so-awesome ones, but that's the beauty of trial-and-error! ;)

I don't live in the Bryan/College Station, Texas area, but I still want to order something from you. Is that possible?
It's possible, but probably not a good idea. Shipping would cost you an arm and a leg, and it would be tough to make sure your baked goods got to you in one piece. So, at this time, I only accept local orders.

Where did you learn to decorate cakes?
I taught myself, but if you're interested in trying a decorating class, swing by your local Michaels. Their cake decorating classes are pretty inexpensive, and it's my favorite place to shop for my cake decorating tools.

Great website! Can you help me design one, too?
Sure. My webdesign business is located at Joya-Designs.net.
